After lunch time we got to have free time. Before we got to have free time, we had to clean up the class room. We also eat our fruit and put our chairs up, then we got to go to the filed to have free time.


For free time we played scorer and teach. I played scorer with my best friends Alexandria, Jessica, and Vanessa. Me and Alexandria beat Jessica and Vanessa. I didn't want to play teach because I was really tiered but I know that Cecelia's team won.

Our Athletics day

This week on Wednesday Pt.England school had athletics. I was so excited for athletics because I really like doing sports. My favorite part of athletics was high jump, it was a little bit easy for a while but then it got harder. The top two finalists were Serena Litia, I really really like high jump.
That was my favorite. I got a bit nerves when it got to sprints, I came second on the 75 meter race and came first on 100 meter.

My Week In Room 18

Chapter 1:
One week ago the years 6’s went off to camp, the people that did not go to camp had to go to room 18. Our teacher was Mr Slade. It was pretty boring because we did a lot of sheet’s.


Mr Slade had a lot of sheets for us, he gave us a sheet about earth. I learned that earth is the third planet from the Sun, all the sheets were really easy especially the word searches. He is a good teacher.

Year six camp

Even though I'm not going I still feel excited and happy because of all the fun activates. If I was going I think I will have a lot of fun.

Camp Benzon is in the north cove close to the Bon Accord Harbour. To get there we will have to go in a ferry.

If I was going my favorite part will be kayaking, it is my favorite because I like being in Kayak's and being in the water. I will also look forward for the swimming.

If I go my challenge will be the Burma trail. It will be a challenge because you have to wear a blind fold, and follow a rope.


If I go I will get ready and get all the things I need.

Ice-cream Comets

Did you know that you can eat comet's? Will you can, but only one's that are made out of ice cream,biscuits and sprinkles.


As Miss Granden put the ice cream on my hands it was so cold, it felt as if it was winter. When I was running down to get my dust, my ice cream started to drip through my fingers. My hands were all sticky and messy. The dust was made out of biscuits and sprinkles, it was really nice.


You maybe wondering how to make comets, it is very easy and simply. The first thing you have to do is get some biscuits, sprinkles, ice cream and cones. Before we start you have to wash your hands. Now you have to crush the biscuits and put it in a blow with the sprinkles and you have you your dust. After that put some ice cream on your hands and also put some sprinkles on top of your ice cream, and mikes it all tougher then put your comet on the cone.



When I was eating my comet it started to melt in my mouth, It was really delicious. It felt like a chocolate fold in side of my mouth, it was rushing down like a water full. The sprinkles felt like little ballerinas dancing around in my mouth. It was soft and chewy.


After every one had a ice cream the floor was a crumbling mess. But it was delicious.

Best Weekend Ever

When my mum said that my cousin was coming over, I was so excited, because I was looking froward to doing a lot of cool things with her. My cousin got bored and wanted to go to the park.


My cousin Precious always likes going to the park, so she asks my dad if we can go. When he said yes me and Precious get excited and happy . So we run down to the the park.


After playing at the park we both got hunger, we run up to the house and told dad the we were hunger. He said OK and told us that we were eating “chicken and rice”. After a few hours later he said it was finished and he told us to come on the table, we said to him “that you should be a chef some day.



The next day Precious had to go home,I felt sad because we had a lot of fun and she had to go.

Cousin Coming Over

“Yes” I say as I see my cousin Precious. I was so happy to see her when she came over, she came on Saturday to sleep over. At home we played a lot of games and ate heaps. It was really fun when she came.


As me and cousin stared to become bored I had a idea that we could play tiggy. Me and my cousin went down to the park, and was the one who had two count. As she was running away I said I’m going to get you Precious!!! and I did.



After having a really long play time me and Precious became hungry, so both of as went upstairs and had some lunch. We asked mum what we are going to eat, she said chicken sand-which and juice. Yum!



I felt really happy when my cousin came, I wish I could see her next week.

AFL Coaching

IIsn't AFL an Australian game? I was intrigued when I heard there were Aussie Rules Coaches coming in to teach us how to play. We are Kiwi kids.

The first skill we learnt was the drop punt. You first have to hold the ball up and down, and kick were the X was at the bottom, you also have to keep the laces away from faces. After we all learnt how to do the drop punt we played a game where our teachers were our targets. The coach said” aim for your teachers”.


The next week we learnt how do a hand pass. To do the hand pass you have to have a tight fist and put the ball on your right hand and aim for the x at the bottom. We played aether game with the technique we had learnt and the teachers had to aim for us with the ball, if they got us we would be in. The teachers were saying I’m gonna get you!!!


The last skill was the high mark. The high mark is when you put your hands into a W and put it the ball above your face, if you catch it you can have a free kick or have a free pass and no one is allowed to tackle you. I though to my self “It’s not as easy as it looks”.

I’m looking forward to putting all these skills into practice, when we get to play a real game of AFL next week.

Maui and Matau

I will till you about a game I have learnt. The game it called Maui and Matau, it is a Maori game.
The first thing you have to do is get in to a circle and have some Rakau. You have to hold onto the Rakau and let go when the leader says maui or matau. Maui means move a step left, matau a step right.

Polar Bears

Polar bears are the largest bears in the world. They live in the in Arctic ocean and on ice, they live near the north pole.


Polar bears have very thick hair that keeps them very warm. They have strong legs and feet, on there feet they have sharp paws. On there paws they have bumps to hold on ice.


The cubs live with there mother for 2 and a half years, as the cub lives with it mother the mother teachers the cub how to hunt for food. Normally polar bears live by there selves.



Polar bears hunt for seals, seals are polar bears main food. It waits until the seal comes out of the water to tack a breath in it’s berthing hole, so it can have a breath of air and as it takes a breath the polar bear get his sharp paws and grabs the seal.



A polar bear that lives in the wild lives for 20 years. But a polar bear that lives in the zoo lives for 41 years.

Thung Chai Boats

My reading group read about thug chai which are Vietnamese fishing boats. I have written instruction on how they are made.

1.Cutting long poles of bamboo
2.Cut scrapes of outer skin
3.Slice poles into thin slats
4.Soak the slats in water
5.Weave it
6.Get thinker pieces of bamboo to hold the weaving together.
7.Put resin on the thung chai to make it stop from rotting in the sun and salty water.

Tonga and Canada

Today is Wednesday the 14th of September, today is the day that Tonga will be the vising Canada . It will be held in Whangarei and it will start at 5.00pm today. My predication is 46 for Tonga and 27 for Canada.

The Open Ceremony Of The Rugby World Cup

The Rugby World has finely come, it began on Friday the 9 of September. It is so spectacular they had an amazing beginning .


The breathtaking fire works overwhelmed the crowd. Some of the fire works in the air, looked like colorful shooting stars, or flowers. The fire works made the air look amazing.

As the crowed went wild they all start pushing to get into the front. The crowd was so loud it was like an army of shouting people, many of them were dressed up in consumes. the crowd wear red white and blue, the crowd was so huge.

Although the city struggled with the hue crowd every one agreed that the opening ceremony was a huge success.

The Start Of The Rugby World Cup

It's time for the Rugby World Cup, All Blacks vs Tonga it will be in Eden park. One more day till the kick off how will win?
It is going to be hard because the All Blacks have only won since 1987. I think that the score will be 24-20, There will be a lot of flags waving around, it will be full with Tongans and New Zealanders. The All Blacks will first perform there Haka then the Tongans will perform there chant.

This is an animation I have made and it is about when Te Rauparaha is coming out of a kumara pit. Te Rauparaha is the man how made the haka.

My reading group has been reading an article comparing two girls who live in Kenya.
I have looked in the text to get information and share it with you in a presentation.

Over the past two weeks on Friday’s room 17 have been playing Badminton in the hill.

When I hard that room 17 were going to play Badminton, I felt nerves and excited at the same time. It was so hard that I couldn't concentrate very will . It was so very hard.


The week after that there was a different teacher and her name is Donna , she was teaching as how to hold the grip of the racket, she told us that when you serve you have to always use your forehand. You maybe wondering what backhand and forehand is, will it is when you move your right hand goes side to side hitting the shuttlee.


Me and my partner were strangling how to serve properly , it was just to hard for us. As me and my partner were playing badminton, we could hear other team’s making pinging sounds.
I could see shuttle’s going side to side and I could also see shuttle’s on the ground, it was so messy.



After a few days of badminton I think I now have the hang of it, I am so excited for the next sessions .

New Zealand

Most of the tourists visiting New Zealand in September, are coming to see the rugby world cup. When the tourists come they will find idyllic beach's and wonderful restaurants. Tourists coming here, will have an incredible time .

New Zealand is a beautiful country and a must do for any travel holiday. Our wonderful country has idyllic islands with lush rainforests. In our vibrant cities we have, sophisticated restaurants.

New Zealand has a spectacular and diverse landscape, and a temperate climate. This wonderful country has spectacularly beautiful landscapes ,including vast mountain chains and sweeping coast lines. In our lush rainforests we have many native species.

We should all have 1 day with out television, per week. There are many reason’s for this.
This would be very good for you, it will save a lot of power and money for important things and you would not have to worry about your home work.

Firstly, this would save a lot of power. It will save the electricity and your bill not so big. The power will save a lot of money to pay your bill. The TV can cost a lot.

Secondly,It will be good, you will have finished your home work. You will make your family and teacher prod. It is going to make your home work good. You will also get a job when grow up.

I believe that not watching TV every day will be very good for you. Don’t you?

Partly Cloudy
The main characters is a stork and a cloud. This moive is set in the big blue sky.
In the beginning of this story all the storks delivered new born babes to familys.
There was one stork that had a boss that always makes bad dangerous babies and the stork always gets hurt.
At the end of the movie, the stork goes to another cloud to get some armour so he can still work for the cloud.
I give this movie 10 out of 10 because it is exciting, cool and cute.

Extreme Makeover Courtyard Edition

In room 17 we are redesigning our courtyard.
We chose to put a basketball hoop in room 17's courtyard because no one plays around in our courtyard and kids like to play basket ball. I have been looking at some information about the basketball hoop and it is $45.00 for it.

Did you know I will also put grow some flowers in the court yard?. The seeds only cost $2.99 at the warehouse. I think it should be in the court yard so that it can be colorful.

I have also put some palm trees in my plan so in summer when you get hot of playing basketball you can lie under the palm tree. I think it should be there because it is going to be really hot in summer.

In room 17 on Fridays Miss Muiaumaseaii Comes in so we can do some art work. Our art is going on a flexed bag to show the school. We first started by doing some sketches on some pieces of paper. Then Miss Muiaumaseaii chooses one pitcher to in-large on a card broad paper. Then we will print it. Then we will put it on the bags. I like Fatu Feu'u art work because it is nice and it is about island things and patterns it is very nice. When we do art with Miss Muiaumaseaii it has to be nice and neat.

Oktapodi

I am going to show you a review about Oktapodi. It is set in a Greek Village. Their is a female and male octopus and a chef .It is about to octopus in love together and are not letting go. The main message of this movies is don’t ever let go of who you love the most.
I would show this to my friends and family because they might of had someone that they loved but they had let go.

My Eel Trap

In reading I have been reading about eel traps in Samoa. I have drawn my own eel trap as you can see. Eels sleep during the day and hunt during night time. In my picture the eel is going into the trap to eat the fish.

Redesigning My Net-book Bag

Room 17 are designing a new net-book case for there net-books, using the BAR KEYS. I have add to my net-book some new pockets to put important things inside it.

I have add the pockets on to the net-book because you can put important things that you really need. I also added a password key so that you will type it in and it would open. I did it because some one might take it but they wont know the password.

My First Term

My first term at pt.England was fun. It was fun because room 17 got to do art with Miss Muiaumaseaii, and use our net books. If we did not have our net books we would have been writing on our books. Doing our art with Miss Muliaumaseaii was so fun she is an artist to all of us. I wish she could still come and do more art with us next term.

All of the year 4 and up all got a blog . I really like having a blog of my own because it is cool.

Art Space

Art is beautiful you should love what you have done. I have been working on my flag and my word was HONESTY.I chose that word because every one must be honest to each other . I chose a colour that I like and it is green ,because it is the colour of the trees and the sea. I did not like my flag at first but now it is on the wall I really love it.

The Spartans

Ancient Greece was in a town called Sparta, that’ where the Spartans lived. The Spartans had honesty and courage.

There were boys the age of seven that had been taken away from there family's . They were trained for war,after there years gone they were soldiers.


They had captured people that would work for them. They were slaves called Helots.

Woman were tough, they would celebrate if their sons won. But if they were defeated the mothers could kill their sons.

Japan

There was aether decider in Japan. It was off the coast off Japan,they had a Earthquake and tsunami,the tsunami coast losts of damage . All the houses were engulfed by water,the force of nature washed Japan away . I woneder if some people are self,if I had been thire I’ll be sad.




The earthquake didn’t really c that much damage in Japan. But it cos a lot of pepole daied, but it is the tsunami that cost the most damgae. The tsunami came running donw really fast,it looked really big and strog. It is so powerfl than the earthquake.



I have been looking at some research and hared that the tsunami was 8.9 high. I also been looking at some pitchers,they looked very sad and I hope that the people that are alive are self. The buildings have been badly damage and heaps of people have past away. This is bigger than the Christchurch one. They have made a big buildings so people can go to the top and stand on it,because they always have earthquakes in Japan.

Cricket

Every Thursday’s room 17’n go out and learn how to play cricket . Last week we went to cricket,we always start with a practice. We have to have four people in our group,we do that to learn how to bat and play. When we have finished we start to play the real game. Every time it is my turn I feels scary.



When I got to bat I felt sacred,then after a while I didn’t. Hermit is always the bowler,he throws the ball then I whack it. I start to run when you run you have to touch the wickets so I can get points for my group. It is a very cool game to play.


Today we went to cricket. We learned how to bowl,we first learn how to hold the ball. Then we play a game were you have to have a pannier and a cone in the meddle and one ball. To play your pannier has to be on a side and you also have to be on a side too. You have to aim to the cone.

Holiday Highlight

My favourite holiday event was going to Mission bay. I went with my big sister my little brother and mum. We went there at night time, all of us thought the water was dirty there. After that we had some fish and chips. Once we had finished our meal and had rested we went to swim on the aether said because it was clean. I really liked it there because I got to play on the sand and play in the water. In the water I got to felt cold but I stilll played in the water. When we were on our way home my mum said, “do you want to go to the water fountain?’’ We said yes! So after that we went there and me and my little brother Suli jumped into the water. Water from the fountain came splashing down on me. Suli was trying to catch the water. After a while we had to finally get out and go home. Chrischurchs Earthquake

Yesterday a devastating disaster hit Christchurch again. It was shocking to hear about what happened to there city , it was very sad when they said it on the news . Maybe there is a way that we can all help them. If we can help them I think they will be very happy.


Buildings have been destroy badly and also people.It is the scone time it happened to there city. Ever sine the earthquake hit Christchurch the faintness under the ground have been broken,that means they have no clean water.

My netbook

When I got my netbook I was excited.When we got to open it and on it felt cool and amazing.Miss Brut first told us to open the box,after that she told us to open the netbook. We had to remember our password to log on. Then we got to have a little play be for the battery ran out.
